Junior Baseball Umpire Training (March 24, 2018)

Hello NBSA parents.  The baseball and softball seasons are rapidly approaching and the NBSA is in need of volunteer coaches as we depend on you to make playing baseball and softball a great experience for our kids.  Please consider volunteering!  Coaches do not need an extensive baseball or softball background, and the best coaches are not necessarily the ones who win the league championship.  Leagues look for coaches who they believe will create a positive season long experience where all of the players on their team sign up to play another season.

In order to encourage and support our coaches, the NBSA is proud to offer a Coaching Clinic with Big Al (Al Price) at the Woburn High School Gym, 88 Montvale Avenue, Woburn, MA, on Sunday, March 25, 2018.  This clinic is free for all NBSA prospective coaches and the league has already registered.

Big Al brings a rich set of experiences and strong background to the program.  As a baseball player, Al Price has competed locally, provincially, nationally and at the world championship level.   Al has been a professional high school educator, an athletic director, principal and high school coach for over 20 years.  He has presented coaching clinics to over 160,000 coaches and training sessions to over 50,000 players around the world.  He has had the opportunity to learn from and work with members of the Montreal Expos, Toronto Blue Jays and most recently the San Diego Padres.  He has co-authored training resources used by thousands of leagues and over 1 million coaches, managers, players and their parents.

Big Al has created a complete series of resources for coaches, players and their parents and the league will provide on-line access to Big Al's coaches resources throughout the 2018 season for all NBSA volunteer coaches.  Big Al's programs are age appropriate and focus on learning how to become a better coach, learning how to teach skills, run more effective practices, teach strategy and organize a great game day experience for all of the players on your team.

Please consider volunteering as a coach!
